Private Study

Teaching studio in Wind Gap, Pennsylvania.

  • I offer private study in music. My studio is open to adult beginners who wish to make music for pleasure and to mature adolescents who wish to audition for college or conservatory. I will consider teaching self-motivated children with cooperative and committed parents. I primarily teach older adults.

Musicianship (for all instruments) Solfeggio, ear-training, rhythmic training, theory, sight reading, analysis, & interpretation.

Piano (classical, jazz, & improvisational)

Trombone (classical, jazz, & improvisational)

Voice (pop/jazz)

Weekly one-hour sessions: $65 per session, paid monthly in advance.

Children under 12: $40 per half-hour lesson, paid monthly in advance.

Individual consultation for performance psychology: $100 per session.
















 Teaching Studio Policies

1. Interviews with potential students are required before lessons are agreed to. This is to judge the appropriateness of "fit" between the student & teacher.

2. Tuition is required in full on the first lesson of the month.

3. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult at every lesson. 

4. Cancellation must be twenty-four hours in advance for rescheduling or refund. I do not refund missed lessons without twenty-four hour's notice.

5. Weekly commitment to attending lessons is expected.

6. Students with colds or illnesses are asked to please reschedule lessons when healthy.

7. Lessons begin at the agreed lesson time; punctuality is expected.

8. Phones & tablets are not permitted in the lesson.

9. It is the parent & student's responsibility to practice. I expect but will not enforce practicing.

10. Food is not permitted in the studio. I provide coffee or tea for parents.

11. Please bring "indoor-only" shoes to wear in the studio. I do not wear outdoor footwear inside.

12. Parent(s) of young children should expect to be included in the lesson, including learning how to play what the child is learning.

13. My cat might be at the lesson.
